The student-teacher conciliation procedure can be used in the event that a student is having a concern with a teacher. This process was written by students for students.
Step by Step Procedure
Talk to your parents/guardian if you have a concern about a teacher.
Set up an appointment with your teacher. If needed, ask your parents or another adult for help to prepare for the meeting. If the situation is resolved, you can stop reading.
If after your appointment with the teacher, your concern has not been resolved then talk with a school administrator, either in person or write a letter/email. (All staff email addresses are listed on the school website.) Show the letter to your parents first. (If you are sending an email, do not forward it to other people other than your parents.) If the situation is resolved, you can stop reading.
If you have contacted an administrator, he/she has responded and there is still no resolution, then the parents/guardian should contact the school administration. If the situation is resolved, you can stop reading.
If there's still no resolution, the parent should contact the Associate Superintendent of Education at the Potomac Conference Office of Education. The Associate Superintendent will hear the issue and concern and work with the school & family to come up with a solution.
