The subject of the Brand Study is a resort-service lodging facility in an urban setting. The story is the contrast between a remote luxury resort and a hip, stylish, rewarding beachside urban experience. Think Rome instead of the Amalfi Coast. It is the good life; la dolce vita.
Imaging is based on the black and white themes of la dolce vita. Stripping and contrasts is important. The graphic use of materials helps make spaces seem larger and more airy. Limited color accents using teal and pink from the era are used to provide depth perception. Flooring in public spaces is exaggerated to encourage a sense of movement.
Printed vinyl wall coverings are used thought public spaces and guest rooms. The accent wall behind guest room headboards is one example. In atriums and on the roof deck green wall and planters are used as accent to the black and white background texture. Nature claims its due and the beach, ocean and jungle are brought into the modern space.
