Staff Absence Procedure and Replacement Classes
Unexpected Absences
If you are away for an unexpected reason it is your duty to inform the school before 7:30 am on the first day of absence. You may notify the school of an absence earlier than this if you wish eg: the night before. The earlier you notify us of an absence, the better.
Call the staff absence hotline on: 5338 9037 OR Sumbit a Staff Absence Form https://sites.google.com/ballaraths.net/staffhub/staff-absence
Do not use email, sms or other forms of communication to report an unplanned absence.
Speak clearly, it is not necessary to sound sick when you call in, staff often leave messages which we can't decipher, sometimes we don't even know who called in.
We only need to know who you are and when you will be away, please state your name clearly and the day of the week.
Do not leave work instructions with the message, it is impossible to translate them to the covering staff in the time available.
Do leave work in compass directly (Instructions at the bottom of this page).
If there are physical resources required please remember that CRT staff have no idea which desk is yours or which staff room you are in. Ideally ask a colleague to gather these resources for you or you can email to the Daily Organiser to print/photocopy and place in the Daily Org Pigeon Holes.
CRTs are instructed to return any Physical work to your Pigeon Hole in the Staff room and to leave any feedback at the end of your lesson notes on Compass.
