3D DESIGN (FVA4000) (Open to Grades 11-12) 1 Credit/Year
Fees: Students are responsible for the submission/examination cost of the AP portfolio (determined by the College Board), digital device to store images for online submission, and individual cost of unique art materials not normally provided through the class.
Prerequisite: Drawing and 2-D Design: Successful completion of Drawing and Painting 1 and 2 or equivalent, or Printmaking 1 and 2 or equivalent, and a personal interest in pursuing a degree/career in the visual arts, consent of instructor.
3-D PORTFOLIO: Successful completion of Ceramics 1 and 2 or equivalent, interest in pursuing a degree/career in the visual arts, consent of instructor.
Description: An advanced course designed for the serious art student planning to pursue a degree/career in the visual arts. Emphasis is on the development of SELECTED WORKS or QUALITY - technical excellence in concept, composition, and technical execution of original works of art; BREATH of experience in a variety of media and process, and a personal SUSTAINED INVESTIGATION or CONCENTRATION on a particular problem, concept, or medium. Students are required to complete a portfolio of works to be reviewed by the College Board for (3) AP college credits.
Expectations:
Display excellence in technical skills as applied to various projects.
Develop conceptual expression in the creation of original, complete compositions with purpose of theme.
Pursue individual interest in a particular problem or medium as an area of concentration
Organize and maintain a portfolio according to prescribed specifications as determined by the College Board
