Ainsley Brandabur, a sophomore, is becoming more interested in sports writing.
“I like the freedom it gives. Being able to write almost whatever I want is something that I enjoy,” Brandabur said.
Sports writing is a career that many have thoughts of doing, due to the constantly increasing interest in sports, but many don’t really end up doing.
“There’s just something that I like about reading and writing about sports that I like. It’s definitely something that I might be more interested in doing,” Brandabur said.
Sports writing requires a sports team to write about, and having a sports team to write about depends on where you live.
“I’d want to stay in the area to write about the local teams. I like the opportunities it has to offer in the Cincinnati area and I would like to stay around here,” Brandabur said.
A lot of reporters cover multiple sports, but most have a preference for what they like best.
“My ideal sport to cover would be basketball. It’s my favorite sport to watch and it’s what I find most interesting,” Brandabur said.
From swimming to basketball, you can count on Ainsley Brandabur to be the next big Cincinnati sports writer.
