As we approach the ending of March, there is one thing on most people's mind; Spring Break 2021. After all the hardships in this past year, it’s nice to have a break for a little bit. Last year spring break was ruined for a lot of people, so it’s good to have it back.
Spring break for Badin this year is at a pretty normal time. It starts on Good Friday and lasts about a week and a half. It’s the perfect length to get in a good vacation before finishing off this school year.
“I’m glad Easter is over spring break this year because I know in the past sometimes it hasn’t been. I also think it’s late enough in the year so it actually will be warm,” sophomore Meagan Kirkendall said.
For places like Miami University, spring break is just a few off days over the span of several weeks. Doing spring break like this could prevent Covid cases from rising due to less travel.
“I would be very disappointed if spring break is ever just a few days off over a long period of time because then it doesn’t really feel like a break. It defeats the purpose of not having school when the weather starts to get nicer,” Kirkendall said.
Badin has not yet made the decision on when Spring Break 2022 will be. There are multiple options; one including just having two four-day weekends. As time goes on, it’s becoming a lot more common for schools to spread out their spring breaks.
“I really hope next year Badin continues to just do a normal spring break because it makes it easier for a lot of people's families who planned on going on vacation. With all schools choosing different days, it doesn’t make it possible for that to be a reality,” Kirkendall said.
Nonetheless, students are going to enjoy Spring Break 2021, as it is the last big break before summer begins.
