It’s February, a time where a lot of students are starting to lose motivation. The weather is still cold, but all you can do is look forward to Spring Break.
Students at Badin have a lot of opinions about the third-quarter, most of which are not positive. It’s a hard time for everyone, especially this year with everything else going on.
“I think this quarter has been the hardest for me academically. I also have my basketball tournament coming up, so it’s been a lot to keep up with,” sophomore Teagan Hickey said.
Work load tends to pick up in the third-quarter; it’s the start of a new semester and end of the year exams will be here before you know it.
“I would say this happens every year. It’s easy to lose motivation because all the fun things like Christmas and New Years have already passed, but Spring Break is too far away to look forward to,” Hickey said.
At Badin, they certainly are trying their best to keep things interesting. Things like Spirit Olympics, Catholic Schools Week and Galentine's Day were fun ways to spice up this boring time.
“I’m really excited for Spirit Olympics next week because after that’s over, it will only be a couple weeks until we’re into spring,” Hickey said.
This time of the year is a great test to see how many things you can handle at once. Winter sports are wrapping up their seasons with tournaments, while spring sports are beginning to have tryouts.
“After we all get through February I think things will start to pick up again and everyone can get back into the swing of things,” Hickey said.
