As you drive through the streets of Hamilton, you are bound to see lots of local businesses. From ice cream to hair salons, Hamilton’s local businesses have it all.
Over the past few years Hamilton has really become a more unique city. On Main Street you now can see murals that have been painted, new businesses, and old buildings being put to use. These new spots have drawn in locals and you now are always bound to see people walking the streets to check them out.
“One of my favorite things about Hamilton is True West Coffee Shop. There are two locations in Hamilton and both are quite popular, especially for students who are doing homework,” junior Mary Hunt said.
This past year has been crucial for small businesses because of their loss during Covid. When dining in was restricted, lots of locally owned food businesses were hurt. With the vaccine becoming more available, hopefully restrictions will soon allow restaurants to be in full capacity
again.
“True West just started to allow dining inside again a couple months ago. I’m glad all the local businesses are getting back on track,” Hunt said.
As the weather warms up, more and more people are going to be outside looking for things to do around Hamilton. As our city continues to grow, it’s important we think about our small businesses and what can be done to support them.
“I’m glad that we live in a town that allows people in our community to open local businesses. Hopefully looking forward there will be more to come,” Hunt said.
