Resuming school after a long break is always hard, but this year it may be especially difficult to get back into the swing of things. Students have a lot of input about what is different this year returning from break with all of the new adjustments.
At Badin, faculty and staff are doing all they can to ensure we can stay in person. So far, most would say things have been going smoothly since school has been back in session.
“I think it’s vital that students are following the guidelines set in order to keep us safe, especially right now because cases are rising,” sophomore Maura Mathews said.
Students with family that came into town for break have to be especially careful due to their potential of being exposed. There has been cases rising since Christmas, probably linked to people seeing their family.
“My older brother came home from college outside of town and I know my parents were very cautious about making sure he was safe to have around,” Mathews said.
With more and more people getting the vaccine, students and faculty hope to be able to start returning to normal routines. Masks and social distancing around the school may be a thing of the past as we work though this pandemic.
“Following all of the guidelines at school seems so normal now it’s going to be weird if we are able to return to normal. I think Badin has done a really good job making sure we are able to stay in school,” Mathews said.
Whatever the rest of the year has in store, Badin is ready. The goal is to keep everyone in the building healthy.
“I just hope we can have another successful semester and are one of the few schools to not have to go online,” Mathews said.
