Introduction

Stephen was born in Portland, Maine on September 21st, 1947. Stephen has written almost 100 novels and some have been made into movies or TV shows. His first book was Carrie (1974), it is about a teenage girl who got tormented and gets revenge on her peers.

Early Life

When Stephen was little his parents separated. He and his brother David lived with their mom and dad at different times in Indiana and Connecticut. When Stephen was in his teens he decided to move back to Maine with his mom and David. Stephen graduated from The University of Maine in 1970 and later worked as a teacher. Current Life

Stephen is currently 69 years old and will be turning 70 in September 2017. Stephen is married to Tabitha Jane King who just turned 68 on March 24th. Stephen and Tabitha have 3 kids, the oldest is Naomi King (46 years), the middle child is Joe Hill (44 years), and the youngest is Owen King (40 years). Naomi is married to Rev. Dr. Thandeka and currently have no kids, Joe is not currently not married but has one kid named Ethan King that he had with his ex-wife Riley Dixon. Owen King isn’t married either, but his girlfriend is Kelly Braffet.

His Writing

Stephen has sold over 350 million copies of all his books worldwide! Stephen wrote a few short stories under the name Richard Bachman to see if people liked his short stories. Eventually he came out and said that it was him writing the stories. Many fans had suspected that Stephen was Richard Bachman. The style that the novels by Richard Bachman were written in the same style as Stephen's books. A few of Stephens many novels are:

Interesting Facts

Stephen has a disorder called Triskaidekaphobia. It means that he is actually afraid of the number 13. Stephen says that whenever he writes he hates writing the page 13 or 113 or more. Stephen once told a reporter that he does not remember writing one of his books. Later, he admitted that he does not remember writing any books from the 80’s due to his alcoholism. In 1999, Stephen was hit by a van not far from his house. He suffered from a broken hip, a collapsed lung, a gash to the head, and a leg broken in 9 different places. After Stephen got better, he bought the van in court for $1,500. When Stephen was finished in court, he smashed the car and then sent it to the junkyard.
