Introduction
I always had a repulsive need to be something more than human. I felt very puny as a human. I thought, 'F*** that. I want to be a superhuman.
Birth
David Bowie was born on January 8th, 1947 as David Robert Jones. His mother was Margaret Mary Jones and his father was Haywood Stenton Jones.
Early Years
At the age of 13, David Bowie started to play the saxophone. David Bowie went to high school to be a saxophonist in a jazz quartet. The job counselor said that he should not count on being a saxophonist in a jazz quartet for money, but have another job for money. He said that Bowie should have his other job be working in a factory, and if he wanted something to do with music, he should make harps.
David Bowie went to middle school at Technical High School now called Ravenswood High School and made friends with another boy named Peter Frampton.
Later Years
David Bowie had two wives. He married his first wife, Angie Bowie on March 19th, 1970, and he married Iman on April 24th, 1992. On May 30th, 1971, David Bowie and Angie Bowie had Duncan Jones (known to his family as Zowie). On August 15th, 2000 they had Alexandria Jones.
When David Bowie started looking into being a musician, he changed his name from David Robert Jones - known to his family as Davie - to David Bowie. He took “Bowie” from his current wife at the time, Angie Bowie. He changed it because there was already a popular musician, Davy Jones.
Death
David Bowie died of cancer on January 10th, 2016. When Bowie was dying, he hid the news of himself dying, so he would not draw a lot of attention to himself. But still, news spread of the musical chameleon dying, and there were still many more articles about him than usual.
