“With great power comes great responsibility” is a quote by Stan Lee. He was born on December 28, 1922 in New York City, USA. He is married to Joan B. Lee. They were married on December 5, 1947. Stan Lee had two daughters Joan Celia Lee and Jan Lee. One daughter died after she was born.

Stan Lee attended Dewitt Clinton High School in New York City. Stan decided not to go to college after graduating from High School. He decided to work at a Publishing Company run by Martin Goodman. He worked non-stop and was only paid $8 a week but he really liked working in the Timely Comics Department.

When he was a teenager, he got more writing jobs because the publisher didn't want to pay the artist and the editor so they decided to quit. Stan became the company’s editor at 18 years old. Then World War II started and he volunteered for the army in 1942. In the military, he worked as a playwright. He made training videos, slogans and manuals for the troops.

When the War ended he met his wife Joan and they married. Stan continued to write comic books for Timely comics. He wanted to create new superheroes that had normal problems and be weak like regular people. He created the Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Thor and Iron Man. He kept creating new characters.

Stan Lee is famous for making superheroes and superhero teams for . Stan’s comics were made into films and they made millions of dollars. He does many cameos in his movies. Stan Lee also created a charity called the Stan Lee Foundation. The foundation helps provide access to literacy, education and the arts for children throughout the nation.

Stan Lee currently lives in the Hollywood Hills in California. He is executive producer of many movies with his characters. He doesn’t need money but he worked for DC comics too. He also narrated a series of video games and started his own YouTube channel. He makes appearances at Comic-con. He has been married for 65 years! He continues to write comics today.
