The Application

The following parameters are to be followed as seniors consider applying for the experience:

• The work and experiences a senior gains through an internship must be voluntary. Seniors are not permitted to receive monetary compensation as an intern.

• Seniors who are considering an internship with a Pre-K-12 teacher must select a teacher from a district outside of the Aurora City School District. There are some internship opportunities within the Aurora City School District, such as with the technology or art departments, which may be approved on a case-by-case basis by the high school administration.

• Seniors cannot intern with an immediate family member.

• Seniors cannot intern with the same Community Advisor as another senior. 

• Travel/driving time to and from an internship location does not count toward the 90-hour requirement for the project.
