Stanford University will be hosting the SHTEM Summer Internship in June–August 2026.
This program offers high school students the chance to engage in hands-on, mentored research with Stanford faculty and graduate students.
Program Highlights:
When: June–August 2026 (8 weeks, in person at Stanford)
Who: Motivated high school juniors and seniors
Focus: Research projects spanning engineering, computer science, biology, psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, and beyond
At the end of the program, students present their work at a Stanford research symposium.
The application will open November 2025, with a deadline in January 2026.

AI and Digital Citizenship Intensive by Stanford Academics
Inspirit AI is a 25-hour live online research program taught by Stanford academics that allows students to learn and apply Generative AI to tackle topical challenges in media literacy, historical analysis, and policy ethics.
Applications are due by January 31st.
UC Irvine's Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) is accepting applications for the 2026 ICS Summer Academy, an in-person camp designed for high school students held on campus. Participants work on real-world computing projects—such as coding, data analysis, and problem-solving—while learning directly from UC Irvine faculty and supported by high-achieving undergraduate and graduate students. Along the way, students gain practical technical skills and experience what it’s like to study at a top research university.
This year’s expanded program offers two 2-week and one 4-week commuter sessions where students collaborate with peers and UC Irvine faculty advisors.
