Steel Internship Flyer (2024).pdf

We are pleased to announce the 3rd annual political interns’ program for motivated high school students.

The Michelle Steel for Congress campaign is looking to bring in students who are eager to learn the political process and democracy in action. Interns will get a hands-on experience into what goes into a campaign, why it is imperative for people to be civically engaged, and most of all, students will be able to interact and collaborate with politically interested students from across Orange County. Upon completion of their internship experience, students will also receive a letter of recommendation from Congresswoman Steel. We have welcomed students from all over Orange County including Edison, Troy, Orange Lutheran, Los Alamitos, Oxford, Buena Park, and Fullerton High Schools.

Internship Opportunities with the Democratic Party

We ask anyone that is interested to visit our website at orangecountydemocrats.com/interns for more information.

The primary objective of the Democratic Party of Orange County unpaid internship program is to promote civic engagement and provide experience working on issues important to our community like increasing resources for California’s public education system, creating job and career opportunities, and fostering an informed and engaged citizenry.

Interns will be asked to work on this objective by helping elect Democratic Party-endorsed candidates from President of the United States to School District Board Member. The topics that will be covered during the internship include:

Interns will be asked to commit to a fixed schedule for at least three months and at least 25 hours a month. Available shifts are from Monday through Friday, from 12 to 9 pm and Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 am to 7 pm.

All internship activities will be based at Democratic Party of Orange County Headquarters at 1475 S. State College Blvd, Suite 110, Anaheim, CA.
