Freshman Year Checklist
ALL YEAR LONG
Life is all about balance. Use you daily student planner to keep assignments and homework organized and make a plan for play time, down time, and family time.
Get involved in activities, the arts, clubs and athletics
Pass all of your course work and use our tutoring resources when needed
Make good use of your time in Check & Connect (M/T/W/F)
Check your student AUHSD Gmail for school and teacher updates
Begin a ePortfolio in eKadence that includes high school academic recognition awards, achievements, and projects
Set small attainable SMART goals to stay on task
Create a productive workspace
Keep your study skills on point

FALL SEMESTER
Have your parent/guardian attend "Back to School Night"
Check out our College & Career resources and begin investigating college and career resources
Attend a Career/College visit & the AUHSD College and Career Fair in October
Review graduation and A-G requirements and create/update your 4-year plan with your counselor in eKadence.
Study for fall final exams while taking care of yourself
SPRING SEMESTER
Plan out your sophomore schedule and meet with your grade counselor, Ms. Lu, for Course Selection
Plan to visit a college or two during spring break
Look into internships, summer programs and community service to strengthen your academic resume
Enroll in summer school classes, if necessary
Visit colleges over the summer
Update your academic ePortfolio file with recent report cards, honors and co-curricular involvement
