Shaving Cream Fireworks
You will need:
shaving cream
red and blue paint or food coloring
toothpicks
paper
pan with low sides (cookie sheet)
stiff paper or cardboard (we used junk mail!)
Directions:
fill the pan with shaving cream
use stiff paper to smooth shaving cream
add red and blue paint dots all over the shaving cream
use toothpick and start in center drawing straight out like rays on a sun
lay paper on shaving cream and pat gently to make a print
let sit for a minute
gently peel the paper off the shaving cream
use clean side of your stiff paper or cardboard to scrape off extra shaving cream
look at your beautiful fireworks painting!
Patriotic Marshmallow
You will need:
large marshmallows
red and blue sugar
bowl of water
kebob sticks
Directions:
dip one end of marshmallow in small bowl of water then in the red sugar.
Dip other end of marshmallow in water and then blue sugar.
Put marshmallows on kebobs.
Draw a Flag
You will need:
paper
pencil
red and blue crayons, markers, or colored pencils
Directions:
Pole - draw two vertical lines close together on left side of paper with circle on top
Flag outline - draw rectangle from top of pole, ending 2/3 down pole. Draw smaller rectangle 1/3 of pole
Start stripes - use red and draw horizontal line from bottom of small rectangle to right side of flag
Stripes - use red to draw top, middle, and bottom stripes
Stripes - use red to draw stripes in between
Stars - Use blue to color in small rectangle
Hand Eagle
You will need:
paper
pencil
brown, orange, red, and blue paint
Directions:
Paint both hands using brown paint
Make sideways hand prints in the center of the construction paper with the palms either touching or overlapping. These will be the wings.
Make 2 yellow thumbprints under the hand prints. These will be the legs and talons.
After it dries, draw an eagle head outline. Add a yellow beak and an eye.
Optional: draw the talons on the yellow thumbprints.

Objects in Gelatin
You will need:
Jello or gelatin
small objects - - stars, pompoms, paperclips, small figurines, legos, small blocks
Directions:
Make Jello or gelatin according to package
Once gelatin is in fridge - add objects when slightly gelled
Use fingers or tweezers to pull out all the items!
