We can take care of the earth by:

  • Reducing

  • Reusing

  • Recycling

  • Planting trees and flowers

reduce - decrease or not use as much of something

reuse - use something again

recycle - convert waste into a reusable material

Laughter is good for you!

It decreases the chemicals in our bodies that make us sick

and increases the ones that make us better!

What makes a joke funny?

  • A joke makes us look closely at words and figure out what they mean.

Lets make some jokes!

What did the BIG flower say to the little flower?

Hi Bud!

Bud means:

  • a buddy or a friend

  • a new small flower

What do you say to a fancy cactus?

You look sharp!

Sharp = it can cut

"Look sharp" = well dressed

Lets make something

Rock Painting

You will need:

  • rocks

  • paint

  • paint brush

Directions:

  1. Gather materials

  2. Choose a bug to paint

  3. Paint on rock

Paper Plate Flower

You will need:

  • paper plate

  • scissors

  • paper

  • glue

  • paint, markers, or crayons

Directions:

  1. Snip outside of plate to make petals

  2. Cut paper rectangle for stem

  3. Cut paper pointy oval for leaf

  4. Glue leaf on stem

  5. Glue stem on back of flower

  6. Decorate flower

Go on a walk outside and find as many items as you can.

Make your own Obstacle Course

Use what you have in your home to make an obstacle course! Here are some examples:

  • jump over pillows

  • crawl under table

  • tape on the floor to walk on

  • tossing items into a basket

  • jumping jacks, cit ups

  • pushing/pulling a full laundry basket

Stem Project

Germinate Bean Seeds

You will need:

  • bean seeds

  • paper towel

  • plastic baggie

  • tape

Directions:

  1. gather materials

  2. soak beans in water overnight

  3. drain water from seeds

  4. place seeds in plastic bag

  5. dampen paper towel

  6. fold paper towel and place in bag

  7. tape bag to window with seeds facing outside (to sun)

  8. watch the seeds for the next 7 days

  9. when you see leaves, plant your beans in soil!
