University of Washington Tacoma & Auburn SD
UW Tacoma is an urban-serving university, closely linked with Tacoma and the South Puget Sound. UWT is a member of the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities, a network of public, urban, research universities committed to creating an educated workforce, building strong communities and improving the health of diverse populations.
Since 2017, Auburn SD & UW Tacoma have partnered to support access to higher education and a strong college and career-ready culture in the South Sound. Campus visits, presentations in our high schools, and workshops to complete college applications, financial aid forms, and personal staements are just some of the ways UWT & ASD staff work together to break down barriers and open dialog about post-secondary education options.
UWT staff work with ASD guidance professionals to support college and career-ready programing, conversations and planning. Fun fact: ASD students are 5.5% of the Autumn 2020 newly registered Freshmen class at UWT!
