The commitment to college and career readiness for all students manifests itself through the following actions:
Ensure that all learning opportunities are rooted in standards based teaching according to Common Core State Standards, CTE frameworks, and other applicable standards.
Offer accelerated learning opportunities at each level so that an increasing number of students are ready to benefit from Advanced Placement and Advanced CTE courses in high school.
Arrange for yearly opportunities to check academic/college readiness through College Board School Day Assessments.
Support active counseling of students about the benefits of college and career readiness, offering encouragement and support to enhance successful outcomes.
Reinforce consistent implementation of opportunities to build college and career knowledge through exploratory research & reflection as part of the High School & Beyond Planning Process.
Provide resources to support informed course planning and preparation for attainment of a post-secondary credential that reinforces the district’s vision and values for CCR.
Work with community partners to provide access to resources and opportunities that increase knowledge about college and career opportunities.
Provide curriculum materials and professional development opportunities designed to provide high yield, positive impact on academic behaviors, cognitive strategies, and content knowledge.
