Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) will open at the same time as the FAFSA. The WASFA is for people who are undocumented or who do not qualify for federal financial aid.
Complete only one application: FAFSA or WASFA. Most people should file a FAFSA to maximize financial aid.

College Board's Scholarship Search
Offering 2,300 sources of financial aid and over $3 billion in scholarship awards, the College Board's scholarship search resource could put you on the right track to financing your education—and fast! To start your search, be sure to fill out the detailed questionnaire on the site to narrow down specific awards that satisfy your financial needs. While you're browsing the College Board's scholarship selection, see if you're eligible to apply for the Coca-Cola Community Colleges Academic Scholarship! If you're at a small, local school this $1,000-$2,000 award could be right up your alley.

Auburn Community Scholarship
Each year, the Auburn community donates more than $140,000 to seniors graduating from the Auburn School District. Every senior attending public schools in Auburn is eligible to apply for these scholarships, which enable them to continue their training and education beyond high school.

Applications and supporting materials are due by March 31, 2025. Students who need assistance with the application should contact the College & Career Counselor from their school well in advance of the due date:

College Scholarships & Financial Aid
There are thousands of scholarships available every year to students. These scholarships allow students to supplement financial aid packages that may not cover the entire cost of tuition and fees or living expenses. Below are some of the most reputable scholarship programs and search sites for those seniors considering post-secondary learning opportunities. Use the search sites to build a profile and access many scholarships for which you qualify.
Washington State Scholarship Programs
The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) supports low- and middle-income students pursuing eligible high-demand majors in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), or health care.
Act Six Scholarship: Act Six is a leadership and full-tuition scholarship program that connects local faith-based community affiliates with faith- and social justice-based colleges
The College Bound Scholarship: Eligible College Bound students who fulfill the pledge get free public college tuition, or an equivalent amount for an approved private college or career school. Students must apply for financial aid and attend a participating college in Washington.
Governor’s Scholarship: The Washington State Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth is a scholarship program that helps students in/from foster care continue their education and earn a college degree.
Leadership 1000 Scholarship: The Leadership 1000 scholarship is for students attending a four-year college or university in Washington state and have at least a 2.75 high school GPA.
Women’s University Club of Seattle Foundation Scholarships: The Women’s University Club of Seattle Foundation invites you to apply for one of five $10,000 scholarships. Selection is based on a young woman’s character, scholarship, and achievements related to her school and community that are above and beyond her school’s requirement for community service to graduate. Applications are available online at http://www.washboard.org under the search name Women’s University Club of Seattle Foundation.

Scholarship Junkies -- Scholarship Junkies is a free, student-run nonprofit that provides a comprehensive online scholarship database and essay-revision services for students. The group was originally founded at the University of Washington in 2008.
Beware of scholarship scams! DO NOT pay any organization or individual to apply for scholarships or for scholarship lists. Legitimate scholarships NEVER ask for an application fee.
