Attached is a copy of Chapter 11 from John Van De Walle's book, Elementary and Middle School Mathematics. This will help in developing the breadth of fact strategies we teach to our students.
In this chapter John Van De Walle states, "All children are able to master the basic facts including children with learning disabilities. Children simply need to construct efficient mental tools that will help them. This chapter is about helping children develop those tools."
Posters are to be used in the classroom to re-enforce concept of operations at grades K-5. Concept of operation is an essential component of developing competent problem solvers.
