Students can attend:
- - Seminar announcements by SCAI Communications and SCAI Faculty
  - Any defense hosted by SCAI
    - - Zoom links are shared via SCAI student email announcements and can also be requested from advising.
  - Any seminar on the Seminar Calendar that is approved for your program:
    - - IE: SCAI (Blue) only*
      - CEN: All seminars approved for CEN

*Orange, maroon, brown, teal or pink seminars that were attended prior to March 17 may be accepted for students who are graduating in Spring 2025 only.

*IE Online students may email advising to request the zoom link for any seminars as needed.

FAQs

What if I have not been added to the Portfolio canvas?

Students are added to a Portfolio canvas course during their graduation term after the graduation application deadline for the given semester. If the graduation application deadline has passed and you are not added to the canvas course, please email advising.

I will not be able to submit my portfolio before the deadline. Can I still graduate?

The portfolio deadline is set so the Advising Staff and the Program Chair have enough time to review and process your portfolio so you can graduate during your anticipated term. We will accept portfolios after the deadline, but any portfolios submitted after the deadline run the risk of not being processed in time for graduation. HOWEVER, we are going to do our ABSOLUTE BEST to help you graduate as planned. If you are going to miss the deadline, submit the portfolio as close to the deadline as possible and document the reason(s) for missing the deadline.

Are SCAI student defense acceptable to attend for the portfolio?

Yes. IE & CEN students may attend any SCAI student defense as part of the portfolio (see the ASU Defense Calendar).

How and when will I know that my portfolio is approved?

The results will be reflected on your iPOS.

Will I be contacted if my portfolio is not approved?

Yes, please monitor messages in canvas and/or ASU email.

When should I attend the seminars?

The three (3) SCAI Decision Systems Engineering Seminars should be attended in your final year of the program.
