Everyone is an Artist! Draw along as we lead you through a step-by-step process of creating a piece of art. Stories will be read aloud as participants make the final touches to their artwork. Directed art is a fun way to practice listening, following directions, and using fine motor skills.

Conveyance Into Light Exhibition

Central Gallery, Burton Barr Central Library- 1221 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004

An All Day Event- March 6-10, 2024

Conveyance Into Light by Katharine Leigh Simpson is a short, visual exploration of the grieving process and the cyclical nature of renewing life energy. This concept is presented through the visual interpretation of a whale, symbolic of an angel descending from the heavens to gather the souls of the deceased and return them to the stars. Various fine artworks that are inspired by the visual aesthetic of the story will be on display in the Central Gallery, including the Whale and Birds (puppets) themselves.

Luminous: The Art of Light

Designed for visitors of all ages, “Luminous: The Art of Light” invites families and guests to play, learn, and unleash their creativity in a captivating and enchanting world of light. Whether you’re a seasoned art enthusiast or a curious explorer, this extraordinary exhibition promises wonder, discovery, and the sheer joy of artistic illumination.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or in person for same-day entry.

Helping Families in Need

Harmon Branch Library- 1325 S 5th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85003

Monday, March 4, 2024, from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Helping Families in Need (HFINAZ) will be at Harmon Library on Mondays from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. HFINAZ provides application assistance to families that will likely be eligible for AHCCCS, SNAP, TANF, KIDSCARE, and Marketplace. HFINAZ staff can also make referrals to other community agencies that provide services such as food and nutrition, job placement, education and training, and more.

Staff will be located in the North Study Room with limited assistance for walk-ins.  Reservations are encouraged.

Light at Play: An Interactive Art Experience

A unique, interactive art experience is coming to downtown Peoria this March! Light at Play: An Interactive Art Experience is a free, multi-day event featuring 6 large-scale interactive and illuminated public artworks by artist team Pneuhaus that will mesmerize, delight, and inspire people of all ages to explore and play.

Jack Rabbit & The Easter Basket

Lost Canyon, Arizona is too far away for the Easter Bunny, so he gets his cousin, Jack Rabbit to help deliver Sally Johnson's Easter basket. But it's awful far and kind of dangerous! This charming musical is played with large rod puppets on the big stage! Recommended for ages 3 and up.

Art in the Park

Arizona Aloha Festival

Take an island vacation without leaving Tempe by attending the Arizona Aloha Festival at Tempe Beach Park, from March 16 and 17, 2024.

This free event celebrates Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan and other South Pacific cultures through dance and musical performances. The Island Marketplace is filled with vendors offering traditional crafts, fresh flower leis, baskets, hats, carved bone necklaces and tapa cloth. Don’t miss a chance to sample some of the favorite foods of the people of Hawaii and the South Pacific.

All crafts, activities, and demonstrations are included with the cost of general admission. It is the perfect family-friendly event for science buffs of all ages.

Each month the Chandler Public Library will bring new and exciting tales to the Market. Everyone is invited to come and play alongside Chandler Parks & Recreation from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.  Kids will enjoy life-sized games and exciting activities in Dr. A.J. Chandler Park West.

Shamrock Farms One-Of-A-Kind Farm Tours

Shamrock Farms offers both tours to the general public and field trips for schools. 

Fun and educational one-hour guided farm tours at Shamrock Farms are great for school field trips and family fun. Take a ride on the cow-spotted tram to meet the hometown dairy’s herd and learn about the special care Shamrock Farms cows receive to ensure high-quality milk is produced. Tour highlights include driving through a desert oasis where guests see cows eating and relaxing under misted shades, a glimpse into the cow cafeteria where all the nutritious feed they consume is kept and the milking parlor where guests can see and learn about the milking process from a mezzanine viewing area. Once the guided tour is complete visitors enjoy a free milk while exploring the big red Welcome Barn that features a historical timeline, interactive activities, a gift shop and everyone’s favorite- Roxie’s Ice Cream parlor where you can choose between popular flavors of ice cream and more.

Act One’s Culture Pass provides access to the arts for students, retirees, and under-resourced families to visit Arizona’s arts and cultural treasures. Children’s Museum of Phoenix

FREE Admission on First Fridays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The museum reports that space for Free First Friday is very limited and guests will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Children’s Museum of Phoenix has three floors of interactive fun for the whole family, although it’s designed especially for children from birth to age 10. Note that for your family’s safety, adults are not allowed in the museum without children.

For nearly 80 years, the Desert Botanical Garden has been teaching and inspiring visitors from the local community and around the world, providing research, exhibits and more designed to help us understand, protect and preserve the desert’s natural beauty. Garden admission is free on Community Day, the second Tuesday of every month. Walk-ins will not be accepted without prior reservations due to limited occupancy restrictions.

Market on the Move

The 3000 Club is a non-profit charitable organization working with food banks in Arizona, California, and other non-profit organizations. Please help us build a healthy and caring community. You can also provide your support either by donating or volunteering your time. The 3000 Club also sponsors The American Medical Aid Program and Disaster Relief.

Contribute $10 to shop up to 60 pounds of fresh produce for you, and your family, or to share with neighbors, friends, or someone in need.

Distribution Hours: Phoenix and Surprise Locations Monday – Friday from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.

St. Mary’s Food Bank serves to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy, and education.

St. Mary’s Food Bank is truly a community-based organization. Individual donors, corporate donors, and private grants help feed hungry individuals and families in our area. Serving 9 of Arizona’s 15 counties, they are committed to volunteerism, building community relationships, and improving the quality of life for Arizonans in need.

United Food Bank

The United Food Bank serves to stabilize the lives of hungry, low-income people within Eastern Maricopa, Gila, and Pinal, and Southern Navajo and Apache Counties of Arizona by actively acquiring, storing, and distributing large quantities of wholesome and nutritious foods to a  network of community and strategic partners, combined with advocacy and educational initiatives that enhance lives. 

Where they serve: The service area of 19,608 square miles includes some of the most remote areas in the state. Places like Sanders, Arizona, where there are only a couple of places to purchase food, and the next town is 40 miles away. They serve five counties in the East Valley and Eastern Arizona: Eastern Maricopa, Gila, Pinal, Southern Navajo, and Southern Apache.
