Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesdays at the Phoenix Art Museum

Every Wednesday of this month from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. PhxArt visitors can give a voluntary donation for general admission to the museum and reduced rates to view special-engagement exhibitions. Special exhibition tickets: $5 for Adults; FREE for Museum Members, veterans/active-duty military, and kids under 18.

An Everyday, All Day Event 

Act One’s Culture Pass provides access to the arts for students, retirees, and under-resourced families to visit Arizona’s arts and cultural treasures. Act One partners with over 150 libraries in Arizona to allow library cardholders the opportunity to check out free passes. Over 500,000 passes are offered annually. Children’s Museum of Phoenix

FREE Admission on First Fridays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The museum reports that space for Free First Friday is very limited and guests will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Children’s Museum of Phoenix has three floors of interactive fun for the whole family, although it’s designed especially for children from birth to age 10. Note that for your family’s safety, adults are not allowed in the museum without children.

Every Second Tuesday of the Month

For nearly 80 years, the Desert Botanical Garden has been teaching and inspiring visitors from the local community and around the world, providing research, exhibits and more designed to help us understand, protect and preserve the desert’s natural beauty. Garden admission is free on Community Day, the second Tuesday of every month. Walk-ins will not be accepted without prior reservations due to limited occupancy restrictions.

Food Pantries and Banks- January

Market on the Move

The 3000 Club is a non-profit charitable organization working with food banks in Arizona, California, and other non-profit organizations. Please help us build a healthy and caring community. You can also provide your support either by donating or volunteering your time. The 3000 Club also sponsors The American Medical Aid Program and Disaster Relief.

Contribute $10 to shop up to 60 pounds of fresh produce for you, and your family, or to share with neighbors, friends, or someone in need.

St. Mary’s Food Bank

Distribution Hours: Phoenix and Surprise Locations Monday – Friday from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.

St. Mary’s Food Bank serves to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy, and education.

St. Mary’s Food Bank is truly a community-based organization. Individual donors, corporate donors, and private grants help feed hungry individuals and families in our area. Serving 9 of Arizona’s 15 counties, they are committed to volunteerism, building community relationships, and improving the quality of life for Arizonans in need.

United Food Bank

The United Food Bank serves to stabilize the lives of hungry, low-income people within Eastern Maricopa, Gila, and Pinal, and Southern Navajo and Apache Counties of Arizona by actively acquiring, storing, and distributing large quantities of wholesome and nutritious foods to a  network of community and strategic partners, combined with advocacy and educational initiatives that enhance lives. 

Where they serve: The service area of 19,608 square miles includes some of the most remote areas in the state. Places like Sanders, Arizona, where there are only a couple of places to purchase food, and the next town is 40 miles away. They serve five counties in the East Valley and Eastern Arizona: Eastern Maricopa, Gila, Pinal, Southern Navajo, and Southern Apache.
