An actual hedgehog.

It's quite surprising

How attached you get to a

cute little hedgehog

Not a garden one,

she was a special hedgehog;

domesticated

though she was still cross

if you moved too fast for her

or you smelled of dogs

Illness happened fast,

and at a distance from me

so I watched, concerned

whilst somebody else

did what could have been my job,

took her to the vet

and now I'm so sad

because I heard that she died,

and I couldn't help.
