Mayo Memorial Hall is a wonderful sight in the Civil Lines quarters of Allahabad today - the Anand Bhavan and Allahabad Museum are a stone throw away - and is reminiscent of Colonial efforts to cultivate a home in a foreign land. Embodying the neo-gothic style, the Hall is today, a library. In its heyday it served as a legislative assembly when Allahabad was the Provincial capital.
