After School Lessons Enrolling Now!
Band Instrument Lesson Program
Lessons vs. Rehearsals - what is the difference?
In a rehearsal a large group of musicians develop group skills and learn to play together. With so many students all playing different instruments and different parts at once, individualized instruction is very limited.
In a lesson students received individual instruction tailored to their own unique strengths and weaknesses. The lesson teacher addresses any difficulties they are having with their instrument and band music so that they are able to be successful in the full band. Not only do students who take lessons excel at playing their instrument and reading music, they have more fun in band rehearsals and are more likely to continue playing and enjoying music for years to come.
Lessons, rehearsals, and practice at home are all important for musical success!
The Ashland Recreation Department in partnership with Sam Thurston (Ashland resident and coordinator of the Natick lesson program) is offering an opportunity for band students of all ages to sign up for weekly lessons with a professional musician and teacher taught right at their own school in the afternoon or evening. No need to drive long distances to an expensive music store in another town.
