After-school lessons are a great way for students to receive more individualized instruction than can be provided during class. Lessons will help students improve exponentially on their instrument.

Performer Dress Code: All black clothing
All band members are expected to perform at all band concerts. Band concerts are held at the Ashland High School auditorium. It is very important students take their instruments and music home on the day of the concert, so they can bring both to the performance. Concerts are the culmination of months of classwork, so it is very important for students to attend and participate.
It is important for students to practice at home two or more times a week for at least 20 minutes per session in order to be prepared for lessons and performances. Students should practice songs from their book, skills we learn in class, and concert performance music.

Meet Ms. Valentin!
Hello everyone! My name is Serena Valentin and I am so excited to be the 4th & 5th grade band teacher here at David Mindess Elementary. After growing up in Connecticut and living in Oregon for 4 years, I have found a home here in Massachusetts and I am loving it! I have always known I wanted to teach music and I am so grateful to be able to do what I love every day. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful community!
