Concert Attire

There is a long tradition of musicians wearing matching clothes at concerts because it highlights the unity of the group and makes a favorable impression on the audience and so it is important for all Ashland band students to be sure to wear the appropriate matching concert attire to every evening band concert. (note: students should wear regular school clothes for any school assembly concerts scheduled during the school day.)

For Ashland Middle School bands the evening concert attire is all black, preferably:

black dress shirt

black dress pants

black dress shoes

Our concerts are formal events often recorded by local access tv so please no t-shirts, jeans, sneakers etc. But most important is that the concert attire is all black No patterns, stripes, lettering, graphics. Also please no hats, ties, coats, vests, etc. By adhering to this dress code, the AMS bands will have a uniform formal appearance and look as good as they sound!
