The Astronomical League has a new, time limited observing certificate. It concerns observing the six Apollo Lunar landing sites. No, we really can't SEE the landing site themselves but we can get close and that's the object of this program! More information on the program can be found here:

In support of this program, a set of finder images have been created as a resource for accomplishing the requirements of this certificate. Here are the links to the online PDF files. Some notes are in order for the links:
At the telescope, both documents are designed for use in hand held electronic display devices capable of displaying PDF files. These finder images work best when an image is zoomed in or out to match the orientation and field of view in the eyepiece.
Document 1. This is the full document. It contains the finder images as well as a visibility ephemeris for each site through the end of August 2019 (2021: Obviously this document will be a little "dated" with respect to the conditions of visibility so a lighter doc is linked below. That doc does not contain the outdated information):

Document 2. This document contains all the finder images and the visibility table. It does not contain the additional site visibility ephemeri. It is intended to be a lighter document for resource limited devices:

Unfortunately, due to the current lunar orbit conditions, there are very few opportunities to view these sites in their optimal lighting conditions at any FNOH until late Fall 🙁. On a good note, there ARE good opportunities at other outreach events if they are planned accordingly 🙂. See the document for the table of opportunities.
Enjoy.
