Each week, students are tasked with working in their IWB (Independent Work Book) or more recognizably known as a sketchbook. Entries contain both visuals and text and a smash-up of other media. The visuals are small exploratory studies of technique, media, composition and layout. The text include reflections, analysis and intentions from the student. Additionally, they include their research that relates to the topic of their entry. This research can be an artist study, artist technique, art style, media technique, art history investigation, art movements, etc. Each entry and it's content is unique to each individual, as each student is free to study and interpret the world around them and apply it to their art making they see best fit. These are the visual representations of the inner workings of an IB Art student's brain. Enjoy!
