Quick Draw

Students were given verbal directions to follow along to. Over the course of the directions, students gradually built their first art assignment. All had the same directions, but each student creatively interpreted the directions in their own unique, artistic style.

Directions were:

1. Draw a medium-sized square anywhere on the paper.
2. Draw a large circle that partially overlaps the square.
3. Fill only the overlapping portion with patterns.
4. Add 3 more circles, but don’t allow them to touch any other shapes or the edge of your paper.
5. Somehow, divide the paper with a vertical, wavy line.
6. Put 4 - 1” solid dots on the left-hand of the page.
7. Put 5 – 1” empty dots on the right-hand side of the page.
8. Fill 3 of those empty dots with 3 smaller, solid dots.
9. Add 3 triangular shapes that overlap with other shapes.
10. Draw a splatter shape that touches at least one area on all 4 edges of the paper.
11. Add a dotted line that extends from one corner of the page to a different corner of the page.
12. Write your first name in all capital letters on the right side of the wavy line.
13. Mirror your name in all capital letters on the left side of the wavy line.
14. Fill patterns inside 3 more shapes.
15. Add thick lines to 5 of your shapes.
16. Add 2 more splatter shapes
17. Outline with black pen or marker. Then, color and/or add details to make this look like a quality finished product.
