Art Studio: Paints & Pigments

First, students experimented with making homemade paints.

Next, they shared their findings with the class and picked an inspiration photo to base their landscape off of. After simplifying their landscape into a series of contour lines, they added values to imitate atmospheric perspective. Students had the option of using their homemade paints or other materials (like watercolors) that they had available at home.
