Kincaid Choir

Kincaid Choir gives students in grades 4-6 the opportunity to advance their knowledge and performance in the art of singing. Students will be instructed in proper vocal production, 2-3 part choral singing, performance practice and vocal health. This opportunity not only enhances their abilities as a musician, but it cultivates confidence, team work and work ethic.

Choir meets 2 times a week from 8-8:40AM on Mondays and Wednesdays. We will begin rehearsals for our first concert on Wednesday, September 8th. A tentative date for our Winter Concert has been set for December 9th at 7:00 PM. Approximately 40 applicants will be accepted per semester. Attendance IS EXPECTED unless absent from school. If students are dealing with throat issues where singing is difficult and plan to attend school...they can still attend choir and listen to parts, mark their music, etc...

Students will be masked while they sing. Singing in some masks can be a little frustrating. STUDENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PURCHASE SPECIAL MASKS...however, there are masks that may make singing with a mask easier if you are so inclined to purchase them. I purchased one from Amazon and I have 2 coming from a different vendor. I will tell you let you know if either of these options are worthy.

Applications will be distributed at the beginning of each semester. I will hand out permission forms in Music Class.
