3rd Grade Word Sheets for Veteran’s Day Concert 11/10/22

America

My country tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty,

Of thee I sing.

Land where my fathers died, Land of the Pilgrim’s pride,

From ev’ry mountainside

Let freedom ring

(oooo the second time, sing words again)

Let music swell the breeze

And ring from all the trees

Sweet freedom’s song

Let mortal tongues awake

Let all that breathe partake

Let rocks their silence break

The sound prolong

Star Spangled Banner

Oh say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,

What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,

O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?

And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

Oh, say, does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

This Land Is Your Land

This land is your land, This land is my land,

From California to the New York island,

From the redwood forest to the Gulf Stream waters

This land was made for you and me

As I was walking that ribbon of highway, I saw above me that endless skyway,

I saw below me that golden valley

This land was made for you and me (refrain)

I’ve roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps to the sparkling sands

Of her diamond deserts, and all around me a voice was sounding

This land was made for you and me (refrain)

When the sun comes shining and I was strolling and the wheat fields waving

And the dust clouds rolling, as the fog was lifting a voice was chanting

This land was made for you and me (refrain)

America the Beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain.

For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain.

(Refrain)

America! America! God shed his grace on thee and crown they good with brotherhood,

From sea to shining sea

You’re a Grand Old Flag

You’re a Grand old flag you’re a high flying flag

And forever in peace may you wave,

You’re the emblem of the land I love,

The home of the free and the brave

Ev’ry heart beats true under red, white, and blue,

Where there’s never a boast or brag

But should auld acquaintance be forgot,

Keep your eye on the grand old flag (repeat)

Yankee Doodle Boy

I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy,

A Yankee Doodle do or die

A real live nephew of my Uncle Sam

Born on the 4th of July

I’ve got a Yankee Doodle sweetheart

She’s my Yankee Doodle joy

Yankee Doodle came to London

Just to ride the ponies

I am a Yankee Doodle boy!

Battle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored

He has loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword

His truth is marching on

Glory, Glory Hallelujah

Glory, Glory Hallelujah

Glory, Glory Hallelujah

His truth is marching on

This Is My Country

This is my country! Land of my birth

This is my country! Grandest on earth

I pledge thee my allegiance, America the bold

For this is my country! To have and to hold.

This is my country Land of my choice

This is my country hear my proud voice

I pledge thee my allegiance, America the bold

For this is my country! To have and to hold…To have and to hold

Alaska Flag Song

Eight Stars of Gold on a field of blue

Alaska’s flag may it mean to you

The blue of the sea, the ev’ning sky,

The mountain lakes and the flowers near by

The gold of the early sour dough’s dreams

The precious gold of the hills and streams

The brilliant stars in the northern sky

The bear, the dipper and shining high

The great North star with it’s steady light

O’er land and sea a beacon bright

Alaska’s flag to Alaskan’s dear.. The simple flag of the last frontier.
