Library Policies and Regulations:
1. Check for outstanding fines. Students are advised to check their OPAC account and ensure that they have settled any outstanding fines in the library. This includes late fees for overdue books, lost book charges, and any other fines associated with library materials.
2. Retrieve library card. Locate and ensure a valid library card issued by the library is at hand. This card will serve as a primary requirement for the library clearance process. If a student lost or misplaced their library cards, they are advised to follow procedure no. 5 to address the issue.
3. Visit the library information desk. Students are to proceed to the library information desk to submit the necessary requirements for the signing of clearance.
4. Take attendance on the logbook for library clearance. Students are required to take attendance on the logbook for library clearance for library monitoring.
5. Lost library card (if applicable). Lost library card can be replaced upon payment of P50.00 to cashier’s office. Replacement will be issued upon presentation of Affidavit/Certification of Loss and the receipt of payment. Graduating students who lost their library cards need to visit the library to request their existing library card number and receive a note from a librarian/library staff indicating their need to acquire an Affidavit of Loss (AOL) from a public notary office.
6. Submit required documents. Students are to present their valid library card, Affidavit of Loss (if applicable), and or any receipts or proof of payment for outstanding fines.
7. Library clearance review. The librarian/library staff will check and review the library card holder’s account to ensure all fines are settled and accounted for. If the library card is lost, the librarian/library staff will verify the notarized Affidavit of Loss (AOL).
8. Obtain library clearance signature. Once the student’s records are cleared, the head librarian will sign the library clearance. If the head librarian is not present for signing of clearance, a librarian/library staff (permanent status) will use “for” and “by” signatory remark to sign the library clearance by proxy.
9. Alumni undergraduate students are to surrender their library card once they obtain library clearance signature as mark of the end of their library card privileges until they return as an alumnus to receive alumni status library privileges.

Welcome to Aurora State College of Technology Library! We are committed to providing excellent service to support the academic and research needs of ASCOT community. To make the most of the ready- reference services, please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Availability of ready-reference services. Ready-reference services are available during library office hours.
2. How to request ready-reference assistance. Approach the information desk or designated ready-reference area in the library. A designated librarian/library staff are assigned to assist with quick information retrieval and basic research.
3. Library identification. Present a valid library card when requesting ready- reference assistance.
4. Limits on ready-reference assistance. Ready-reference assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure fairness to all library users, assistance may be limited to a reasonable time frame.
5. Follow-up questions. If the library user’s question requires additional research, the assigned librarian/library staff may guide the client on how to proceed next or direct them to relevant resources.
6. Confidentiality. The library user’s information needs and interactions with the librarian/library staff will be treated with confidentiality.
To ensure a smooth and productive experience for all library users, we have established guidelines for the use of internet-ready computers. Please adhere to the following rules and regulations:
1. Library card requirement. To use the internet-ready computers, library users must present their valid library card at the information desk.
2. Logging attendance. Sign in the attendance logbook for internet users.
3. Time limit. Each library user is allowed a maximum of one hour per day on the internet-ready computers.
4. Proper use of internet. Library users are to use the internet-ready computers for educational purposes related to their academic
coursework. Refrain from accessing inappropriate or offensive contents that may disturb others. Avoid downloading or installing software on library computers.
5. Saving work. Library users are to save their work to a USB drive or cloud storage. The computers are set to automatically clear all data and documents after each session.
6. Respectful environment. Keep noise levels to a minimum to maintain quiet and focused environment.
7. Assistance to technical issues. Seek assistance from a librarian or library staff if to encounter any technical issues or require help with the computers.
By following these guidelines, library users can contribute to create a positive and productive environment for all library users
Library card holders are privileged with two (2) hours of internet voucher every day.
1. Head to the information desk section of the library near the entrance of the College library.
2. Inform the librarian/library staff in charge of assistance to avail the two (2) hour free internet voucher.
3. Present valid library card and take attendance on the log form for internet users.
4. Receive the internet voucher slip containing the computer-generated password that will expire after the two-hour period. Connect to the Wi-Fi named “ASCOT (Library) Student Wi-Fi” and type in the password given to access the Wi-Fi valid for 2 hours.
