Educational Psychologists (EPs) aim to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people across Aberdeenshire from the early years to school leaving age. This is achieved through working collaboratively with children, young people, families, educational staff, local authority colleagues and a wide range of other professionals.
We have skills in problem analysis and solution-focused discussion, and apply our knowledge of psychology and child development to improve experiences, outcomes and opportunities for all children and young people. We also carry out research and help develop policy and practice.
The work we do covers Five Core Functions- please see below for more about what types of work an Educational Psychologist can do, and what each of these functions can entail.
