Every issue, we will be featuring Seniors who have made great contributions to their school and community by their service and dedication to peer ministry.
Where are you from?
I am from Harvey, Louisiana but I was born in Gentilly, Louisiana.
Tell us about your family.
My family is based in New Orleans and we have been here for as long as I know. I live at home with my two parents and little brother, but I also have two older siblings.
Why did you choose Archbishop Shaw?
I came to Shaw because of the welcoming and open atmosphere that the school has. I felt really comfortable when I came to look at Shaw and decided that it was the place for, and I was absolutely right.
When did you first get involved in Peer Ministry?
I first became involved in Peer Ministry my junior year. I had been asked to go on the COR retreat and after I completed it I was eager to join the club.
How has your experience in Peer Ministry impacted your own faith life?
Peer Ministry actually changed the way that I viewed my own personal faith. I was very inactive in my faith before joining, and now I feel as if I cannot get enough of it.
How has your faith life grown while at Shaw?
My faith has grown through my desire towards my relationship with God. I feel that my relationship with God has strengthened through the integration of religion into everything that we do here at Shaw.
What are you planning to do after high school?
After high school I hope to further my education by studying political science at the University of Villanova, Tulane, or Notre Dame.
What advice would you give to your younger brothers here at Shaw as you move on?
Put yourself out there, this time at Shaw lasts for only so long. There are so many memories to be made at school but you have to be the one who goes out and makes them.
