Every issue, we will be featuring Seniors who have made great contributions to their school and community by their service and dedication to peer ministry.
Where are you from?
I am from Marrero, Louisiana.
Tell us about your family.
I live at home with my mom, dad and my older brother.
Why did you choose to attend Archbishop Shaw?
My initial reason for choosing Shaw was because my dad came here in the 90s, but once I came for a spend-a-day, I knew that this was the place for me.
When did you first get involved in Peer Ministry?
After I attended the COR retreat during my Junior year, I wanted to get involved in Peer Ministry any way I could.
How has your experience in Peer Ministry impacted your own faith life?
It has helped me grow closer to God. Going to and participating in all of the retreats, opportunities for prayer, and Eucharistic Adoration has helped me grow closer to Him.
How has your faith life grown while at Shaw?
When I first arrived as an eighth-grader, I didn't have much of a faith life at all. It was the example of the adults and other mentors here at Shaw that showed me what faith really was in the first place. Thanks to their dedication, I have come to strengthen my faith in the Lord.
What are you planning to do after high school?
I intend to attend Holy Cross College to pursue a career in Nursing.
What advice would you give to your younger brothers here at Shaw?
Treasure your time at Shaw, because it is limited and it grows shorter each day.
