PMI - PLUS / MINUS / INTERESTING about the Hauraki Gulf. It’s time to think about all the things we have learnt over the past 11 days. In your groups from Day11, write as many things you learnt about on your YOE Google Slide. Examples:
Orca are in the dolphin family;
Birds can get caught on fish hooks;
When ships slow down less Bryde’s whales are killed).
Now take turns to place each statement under a heading - is it a PLUS (positive); MINUS (negative) or is it an INTERESTING fact? This is a good time to discuss and respectfully debate.
In Day 11 you were asked to think about what YOU could do to take action. Continuing on from this, watch the video.
Discuss in your group
Which of the 8 ways is something you could do now to help the environment?
What could improve the video?
Now think of 8 things we can do for the Hauraki Gulf. Write them down on your YOE Google Slide.
Watch - how to make a video. You might like to take notes, or reflect afterwards on ideas you could use, or tips you found helpful. You might also have experienced people in your class who could add their ideas and tips.
