Stepping Up Publishing - Lockdown

Hi Stepping Up Publishing students,

I hope you are all enjoying the lockdown and getting a chance to do some fun activities at home! If you would also like to do some publishing ... and you've finished all the learning set by your class teachers, then you can work on finishing these three publishing activities (if you haven't already):

Font Categories Information Poster
Matariki Poster
Ice Skating Disco Poster

Use the Google Slides below from each lesson to help you. The words and pictures to make the posters are available further down the page. You must include the words, but you do not have to use the pictures provided. If you would like to find other pictures, you are welcome to do this.

When you've finished your piece of work, share your file with me on Google Drive at: judem@arahoe.school.nz

Remember: Stepping Up Publishing is an optional activity during the lockdown (that means you do not have to do it). Always do the learning set by your class teachers first.

Poster Size - A4

Make all of your three posters A4 portrait. This means: 21.0 cm Wide x 29.7 cm High

To do this in Google Drawings:

> Go to the Menu Bar and click on the 'File' tab

> Scroll down to 'Page Set Up'

> Change Standard to Custom

> Change Inches to Centimeters

> Enter these numbers into the two boxes: 21.0 x 29.7

> Click 'Apply'

> Good job! You've set up your file size to A4

Your job is to create a 'Font Categories' information table/poster using Google Drawings.
Read the slides to learn about the different font categories and then make the poster.
