(7 Minutes)
Watch the video and discuss the questions.
Why are we doing this?
What is the problem?
What are we going to do about it?
Discuss health and safety first!
Make sure to look under plants, in gardens, in gully traps and drains.
How many pieces of plastic can you find?
Use this class tally sheet to record data.
Also, upload the quantity of plastic collected to the Young Ocean Explorers website.
● Start thinking about how you could encourage others and raise awareness of how to look after our ocean. The last few days of this challenge are going to be for you to create a video (or another way of sharing). Perhaps start a list to write down any ideas that you have as we learn together in the next few days.
Divide your class up into 5 groups. The five questions will be on the wall. Start at the question your teacher tells you to and brainstorm all the answers you can think of. move around the room to the next question. Keep going until you have answered all the questions.
What is ON the water?
What is UNDER the water?
What is ABOVE the water?
What is BY the water?
