As the school disseminated information about educational opportunities, the community became very responsive to the school mission and vision. Due to communication and recruitment efforts, the enrollment grew to one-hundred seventeen (117) students during the first semester. This nearly doubled the enrollment of the school in one (1) semester. The school currently has eight (8) staff members to accommodate student needs.
Personalized Learning/Instruction: Premier High School of North Little Rock implemented a personalized learning model serving grades 9-12 utilizing personalized, self-directed, and accelerated curriculum options. Educators facilitate the learning process; provide learning resources; and ensure students can learn and progress effectively. This model allows for the students to engage in mastery-based learning and asynchronous instruction. Students have an individual learning plan and graduation plan. Students have the ability to engage in one-on-one tutorials, small group instruction, and independent learning.
Personalized Learning Plans: One-hundred percent (100%) of students will meet five (5) times annually with an on-campus advisor to provide guidance and assistance with developing a personalized learning plan, post-secondary goal plan, and other academic endeavors. Advisors will provide school administration with three (3) artifacts from the meeting documented in a section of the personalized learning plan, so they are archived and shared with parents and team members. Academic Advisors will submit two (2) graduation projection plans for one-hundred percent (100%) enrolled in the student's plan and progress. The first is due before the end of the first semester, and the second is due on March 1st, so there is time for any modifications to ensure graduation targets are met.
Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum: All Premier High School Students have access to the curriculum from an internet-capable device, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The students are provided with a viable curriculum from the school and state-approved digital learning providers. The curriculum has project based-learning and learning activities that are aligned to educational objectives. This allows motivated students to complete coursework and assessments, allowing them to earn credits toward graduation in an accelerated timeline.
