Friendship Aspire Academy - Garland Middle School

Friendship Aspire Academy Middle School (FAAMS) serves students in grades 6 - 8 in Little Rock, Arkansas. FAAMS is an open-enrollment charter school sponsored by Friendship Education Foundation. As a FY2019 APSRC CSP Subgrantee, FAAMS was awarded $1,250,000 in May 2019.

The mission of Friendship Aspire Academy- Middle School is to provide a world-class education that motivates students to achieve high academic standards, enjoy learning and develop as ethical, literate, well-rounded and self-sufficient citizens. Friendship Aspire Academy - Middle School seeks to fulfill this mission by providing students a high quality, liberal arts education focused on preparing students with the academic and life skills needed to be successful in college and beyond.

Information & Communications Technology Lab

Friendship Aspire Academy Middle School is developing their Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Lab. Students use their Chromebooks to learn presentation skills, how to process information, and online communication skills. FAAMS Students engage in challenges and practice STEM and robotics skills in a “near real world” environment, preparing them for college and career in the technology infused world.

Family & Community Engagement

Friendship Aspire Academy Middle School (FAAMS) is working to improve parent outreach and communication.

  • Parent engagement and communications surveys were developed.

  • Weekly newsletters are distributed to parents and posted on Facebook.

  • Dr. Gabriel Jackson, FAAMS Principal, also uses Remind weekly to disseminate information.

  • Coffee and Conversations is another opportunity for parents to visit with school administrators in a face-to-face setting via Zoom each month.

  • FAAMS posts videos on Facebook regularly, and they are in both English and Spanish.
