Campus Instruction provides all the tools needed for instructional staff to effectively manage their classroom and instruction. The following content will provide teachers an overview of the features currently available in Campus Instruction for Grade Book.

Assignment Term Posting by Grading Task
The Term dropdown list is dependent on the Year, School, Calendar, and Structure selected in the Campus toolbar. Sections are listed in order by the Period, Course Number-Section Number Course Name. The Task dropdown lists all the grading tasks and/or standards aligned to the section. Tasks are set up and aligned to a section by your school. Teachers align assignments to tasks to collect scores into post-able grades.
For 4 term schools with Semester (18 week) courses. Courses numbering ending in 1 or 2.
All entered and scored assignments will be viewable under Term 2 or Term 4 when the grading task of Semester is selected for term.
For 4 term schools with Quarter (9 week) courses. Courses numbers ending in 5 or 6.
All entered and scored assignments will be viewable under Term 1, Term 2, Term 3 or Term 4 when the grading task of Quarter is selected for the designed term.
For 4 term schools with Full Year Courses. Course numbers ending in 0.
All entered and scored assignments will be viewable under Term 4 when the grading task of FINAL is selected.
Setting up Campus Instruction for Grade Book
Before proceeding, it is a good practice to create your account preferences. These options can be changed at any time throughout the school year.
Account Settings
Establish Categories
Categories are like the folders that assignments are sorted into, collecting related assignments. Categories must exist before you can create assignments. You can make multiple categories or only one. Multiple categories could include Homework, Labs, Tests, Summative, Formative, etc... Please refer to Principal or Student Information Coordinator for Category Names and Weights.
NOTE: Categories should equal 100% for each section assigned.
To begin, you MUST create at least one category
Click Instruction,
Click Grade Book on the Action Bar.
Click Settings to expand options.
Click Categories
5. Section ALL or the individual course/section where categories should be created.
6. Click Add.
7. Enter a Category Name.
8. Select the box under the section title to select all course/sections or Select each one individually by selecting the section box for each course/section needed.
9. Under the Weight column, enter in the weight that should be associated with all sections based on that category or enter a specific weight for each one.
10. You can select to Exclude from Calculation or Drop Lowest Score(%), if applicable.
11. Create your additional categories names and weights until the total weights for each sections equal 100%, then Click Save.
Exempting Assignments Scores from Grade Calculations
The following steps will provide teachers the ability to exempt specific scores from a student's cumulative average using the Exempt flag in the grade book. Exempting a score will neither count for or against the student's grade.
Click the chevron by student score to expand the score, flag and comment fields.
2. Select the X to exempt score from student's grade calculation . In-Progress Calculation will update automatically. Enter comments, if needed.
3. Click chervon in upper right-hand corner to close fields.
4. Click Save. Exempt Score will appear as shown with updated in-progress score.
Adding Exempt Flag to Entire Class Assignment
Click chervon by assignment name abbreviation to expand the Score, Flag and Comment fields.
2. Select the X to exempt score for an assignment. In-Progress Calculations for all students with update automatically. Enter Comments, if needed.
3. Click chevron in the upper right-hand corner to close fields.
4. Click Save. Exempt scores will appear as shown with updated in-progress scores.

The following steps will allow school administrators the ability to view a teacher’s individual grade book by course and section.
1. Search and Select the Course Number.
2. Select the Sections tab.
3. Select blue Grade Book link for the appropriate teacher, term, and period.
