This year, we will host 2 Mini Mock events: one in Santa Fe, and one in Albuquerque. These will be practice committees to help sharpen your research and debate skills in preparation for the NMMUN conference in November.
Mini Mock will consist of ad hoc committees. When students arrive, they will draw a country at random and have 30 minutes to research the topic, before ~2 hours of debate. The event will conclude with feedback from committee chairs and advisor teachers.
Date: Saturday, October 4
Time: 9 AM -12:30 PM
Venue: Academy for Technology and the Classics (ATC), Santa Fe, NM
Address: 74 A Van Nu Po, Santa Fe, NM 87508
Date: Saturday, October 18
Time: 9 AM - 12:30 PM
Venue: Sandia Preparatory School (tentative)
Address: 532 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113
Students should bring a fully charged device like a laptop or tablet for research and resolution writing. A smartphone could work, but isn't ideal.
Delegates will have a choice to participate as an individual or with a partner. Spots for either will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. We recommend that less-experienced students in their 1st or 2nd year in Model UN have a partner. Depending on availability and attendance, you may not be guaranteed a spot in your preferred setting.
