Login to your myCNM student account by using your CNM email address. Your CNM email address is the username you received after applying (e.g., username@cnm.edu). You will register for courses, view your grades, and communicate with your instructors in myCNM.
Set up your password to check CNM email and Brightspace. Your password should be 8 characters long, have at least one upper case letter, one lowercase letter, and one number, and should not include your name or CNM username. If this is your first time creating your myCNM account, your temporary password will be the last four digits of your CNM ID and GoSuncats! Example: 1234GoSuncats!
Note: Check your myCNM email daily to ensure you don't miss important communication from CNM.
Complete the new student orientation. Dual Credit students must complete the online orientation. You will be asked to enter your first name, last name, CNM student ID number, and date of birth to begin the orientation. You must complete the dual credit online orientation before you attempt to register for a class.
Submit your official ACT or SAT scores. If you don't have these, please review your options below. Both options are free!
Math Placement: The Accuplacer Placement Exam is currently being offered remotely or at CNM's Main, Montoya, Westside, Rio Rancho, and South Valley campuses. Exams must be scheduled in advance, and you must have your CNM student ID number and a picture ID to take the exam.
Reading/Writing Placement: The Directed Self-Placement (DSP) tool does not require an appointment. You can take the DSP any time from a cell phone or other online device. Students needing a math placement score will still need to take the math portion of the Accuplacer.
It is recommended that you meet with a Dual Credit Advisor to discuss your course placement options. Be sure to bring your ACT or SAT scores, or complete the Accuplacer Placement Exam before your appointment.
Register for classes online through your myCNM student account. CNM's course catalog is an important resource when choosing courses. Students can take classes at the 1000 level and higher (with the exception of fitness classes) for which prerequisites are met. Print your class schedule to ensure you have a zero payment balance.
Need assistance? Check out our video tutorial on registering for a specific course or the video tutorial on registering for a dual credit in high school course.
Bring a copy of your schedule and a State ID card or Driver's License to the CNM ID Office to get your CNM student ID card. Students who attend a regular APS high school or school of choice should fill out the online form, Where is my textbook? and Library Services will reply back with the status of their textbooks. Read the APS website for more information.
Charter school and all other school district students must print a copy of your schedule from your myCNM account. Bring your printed schedule and textbook charge form (pick up the charge form from your high school counselor) to a CNM Bookstore to pick up required textbooks.
Private school students check with your counselor as your school may pay for your textbooks.
Home-schooled students are responsible for the cost of textbooks.

If you have these charges on your account, you do not need to pay them if your high school is covering the cost of textbooks (applies to public and charter high school students). includED is a program that electronically delivers the required book automatically to the student on the first day of class. Information should also be included on your course syllabus provided on the first day of class.
Note: Your high school must approve your registration. Your high school will receive information about the course(s) you've registered for. If your school doesn't approve the course(s), they will be dropped from your schedule.

To apply to the UNM Main Dual Credit Program, complete the following steps:
After completion of the Major/Career Interest Form, the UNM Dual Credit Coordinator helps students set up an appointment with a UNM Academic Advisor. The UNM Academic advisor helps students understand which course placement tools should either be taken or submitted to UNM. They will also provide students with a list of courses from their intended degree program that are appropriate to take under the UNM Dual Credit Program.
Students may complete the Major/Career Interest Form here: https://goto.unm.edu/majorcareerinterest
Students share the list of courses provided by the UNM Academic Advisor with their high school counselor. Together they review the list and decide which of those courses are also applicable to their high school requirements and which are also approved courses on the Appendix of the Master Agreement with their high school.
Go to https://schedule.unm.edu to view UNM's Schedule of classes for your selected semester. This is where you can find the CRN, Course #, Section #, and days/times for courses. We also recommend that students put their first choice course(s) on the NM Dual Credit Request Form but that they also provide a separate list of alternative choices signed by them and their high school counselor in case the student's first choice(s) are no longer available at the time of dual credit registration.
UNM Dual Credit Application Form
Online form may be completed and submitted here: https://goto.unm.edu/dualcreditapp
NM Dual Credit Request Form
The Student Information, Course Listing, High School Representative Signature, Student Signature, and Parent/Guardian signature must be complete. Forms with missing information will not be processed. The UNM Dual Credit Coordinator or Supervisor are the only ones authorized to sign for Postsecondary Representative on behalf of UNM. They will sign off after review and approval of the complete admission packet.
Students or a high school representative may submit this form to dualcredit@unm.edu once it is complete.
Official High School Transcript
There are only two ways an official transcript can be submitted
A student may order an official transcript through Parchment and request that it be directly sent to dualcredit@unm.edu
A high school representative (counselor, registrar, etc.) emails the official transcript directly to dualcredit@unm.edu
Transcripts submitted by students are considered unofficial, even if the transcript is labeled, "official." Transcripts must be submitted directly from Parchment or by a high school representative.
Fall applicants must wait to send transcripts until spring grades have posted. Summer applicants need to be sure that fall grades are on their transcript before sending.

Official ACT, SAT, AP, IB, Accuplacer, or CLEP scores
Official transcripts from higher education institutions outside of UNM
The documents should be sent to UNM Admissions directly from the College Board, the transfer institution, etc. Documentation of these listed on a high school transcript cannot be accepted for course placement.
ADMISSION
The UNM Dual Credit Coordinator manages the entire Admissions Process for the Dual Credit Program. Any questions about the status of a dual credit application should be sent to dualcredit@unm.edu
Once a student is admitted to the UNM Dual Credit Program, the UNM Dual Credit Coordinator will email confirmation to the student at the email address they provided on the UNM Dual Credit Application Form. A list of next steps will be provided a that time.
REGISTRATION
Registration will be completed no later than the date listed at the beginning of this webpage and in the timeline below.
Admission to UNM ABQ/Main's Dual Credit Program DOES NOT guarantee registration into a dual credit student's requested courses especially for high demand courses which are generally full by the time we open registration for dual credit students. High demand courses typically include but are not limited to: all online courses, first year English courses, math courses, and language courses.
We advise that you include back-up options for courses when you submit your application. If your first choice is full when we open registration, we will look to your second, third, fourth, etc. options immediately if they were provided to us with your application packet.
If back-up options were not provided prior to dual credit registration day and the course you requested is full, it is likely that you will not take a course at UNM for that semester.
A complete application packet is submitted by the deadline posted on the website.
Processing takes about 5-7 business days after the packet has been sent to UNM Admissions to match with online application and transcripts.
If admitted:
Concurrent Enrollment hold is placed on all admitted student accounts.
The Dual Credit Coordinator will begin registering students for the semester. Any changes are to be communicated via email to dualcredit@unm.edu.
Students are to complete the steps outlined in the Welcome email.
The Welcome email is the only communication students will receive to the email provided in the application. Further communication will be sent to the students’ UNM email, once they have created their NETID.
All students are to complete the Online Dual Credit Orientation. The link is provided via email.
If not admitted:
The student will receive an email stating the reasons the application was not accepted.
Common reasons an application is not accepted:
Missing information provided
Missing supplemental materials (transcripts, test scores, etc.)
GPA does not meet the minimum GPA requirement
Student does not meet Junior/Senior standing
Missing signatures on application materials
