Culture: way of life of a group of people who share similar beliefs and customs
Desert: dry, barren area of land
Environment: surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives
Geography: study of the physical and human features of the earth
Gulf: part of a large body of water that extends into a shoreline
Human Feature: anything that is made or built by humans
Key: list that explains what the symbols on a map stand for
Lake: sizeable inland body of water
Map: symbolic representation of all or part of the planet on a flat piece of paper
Mountain: land with steep sides that rises sharply from surrounding land
Mountain Range: series of connected mountains
Ocean: one of the four major bodies of salt water that surround the continents
Physical Feature: characteristic of a place occurring naturally
River: large natural stream of water that runs through the land
Sea: large body of water completely or partly surrounded by land
Spatial Relations: connections that places and people have to one another because of their locations
Strait: narrow stretch of water joining two larger bodies of water
