Welcome to Geography Class! This is our class website that you will use to access information regarding class content, assigned classwork, upcoming projects, and many other resources. Here is where you will find class announcements updated weekly. This is a great place to start when visiting our class website.
Announcements for Week 18:
Unit 4: This week, students will conclude their fourth and final unit of this geography class - Human-Environmental Interactions and Sustainability! Students' geographic knowledge and skills will be assessed with an Inquiry Project (and an optional 10-Question Quiz).
Final Inquiry Project: This week, students will complete their Final Inquiry Project (15% of students' final class grade). Students are researching a chosen contemporary issue affecting our environment and completing six steps of inquiry. Inquiry Steps 1-5 are due Friday (5/24) and Inquiry Step 6 will be due on Final Exam Day.
Unit 4 Quiz: This is the last week to take the Optional Unit 4 Quiz. All students will receive a grade for the Unit 4 Quiz - either the score you earn on this quiz or your highest past quiz score.
Final Exam: Next week, students will take their Final Exam (10% of students' final grade). This 50-Question Exam is all multiple choice and students will be able to use an index card of notes (front and back, hand-written) during the exam. The Final Exam Study Guide is posted here and in google classroom.
Class Supplies: Students will need to bring supplies with them to class every day in order to complete their daily classwork. These will include a charged Chromebook, a Pencil, a 1 subject Notebook (this is optional - students may use Google Docs for note-taking instead of using a paper notebook or may choose to use a binder or folder with loose leaf paper instead of a notebook), a reusable Water Bottle, and a Positive Attitude of course! Come to class ready to engage with your peers and learn about Geography.
Google Classroom: In addition to using our class website, students are expected to regularly login and use our Google Classroom. Students will be able to gain access to our Google Classroom (and all weekly slideshow presentations, assignments, quizzes, rubrics, class grades, etc.) on the first day of class. Students will need to access Google Classroom/ other online resources during class time and so it is extremely important they come to every class with a charged Chromebook! Notifications from Google Classroom will come through student email or students who download the Google Classroom app can get notifications sent straight to their phone.
